Antique Late Victorian period circa 1880's Superb and very imposing Desk Inkwell with Pen rests/Desk Tidy featuring The God 'Pan' as the theme, manufactured in gilded Brass the item features a central set Dome Urn shaped lidded inkwell with copper liner finished to the exterior with closed galleries of scrolled floral designs including a beaded foot and pie crusted rim, the mainstay to the inkwell being the duo of pen rests to the sides which feature as scalloped clam shells relief detailed with a duo of forked moustached, bearded Pan heads, boasting pointy ears and an angry glare, in overall very good aged condition but with one small spot of restorative work in the form of a single replacement finial to the turned rail carry handles to the sides, a period repair and not really noticeable.
